Principal's Message June 14, 2024 (EOG dates, 5th-grade moving up ceremony, June 19 holiday, next year dates, PTA updates)
Hello Falcon Families!
Please note that there is a teacher workday, no school for students on Wednesday, June 19. Juneteenth is a holiday celebrated to commemorate the emancipation of enslaved people in the US. It is a day of reflection, education, and celebration of African American culture and achievements.
Next two weeks:
- Monday, June 17: 4th grade reading EOG
- Tuesday, June 18: 3rd, 5th grade math EOG
- Wednesday, June 19: No School
- Thursday, June 20: 4th grade math EOG
- Wednesday, June 26: Moving up ceremonies for 5th-grade students (can't wait to celebrate!!!) Families will need to get her in time to check in. After the ceremony students will move to the media center where you can take pictures and celebrate while the next track goes to the gym to celebrate.
- Track 4: 8:00 AM
- Track 3: 9:15 AM
- Track 2: 10:30 AM
- Wednesday, June 26: Last day of school for the 24-25 school year. Can you believe it????
- Thursday, June 27 - Friday, June 28: Remediation/Restest day for students, in grades 3-5, that did not pass the EOG but have scoring level 3's and 4's on their report card this year. It is an opportunity to retake the EOG. Parents will be notified if your child is eligible.
Meet the Teacher and Open House for 24-25 School Year!
- Last week you should have received an email with your child's track assignment and teacher for next year. If you did not receive that, please email our data manager, Latonia Knight at llknight@wcpss.net. (That is two l's)
- Meet the Teacher: Just a friendly reminder that on Tuesday, July 2 is the Meet the Teacher event from 5:00 - 5:30 PM. It is a quick, pop-in visit to know who your child's teacher is and get a supply list. It is for all tracks. If you need to know the supply list for next year, it is on our website as well.
- Open House is a more informational session on curriculum, what your child will learn, ways you can support your child at home, etc. It will be a great event!
- Tracks 1 and 3: July 25 from 5-6:30
- Track 4: August 15 from 5-6:30
- Interpreters will be at this event.

- CORRECTION! Save the date for the first NFP PTA meeting of the next school year, Tuesday, July 16th at 6:00pm. You can join virtually at https://meet.google.com/bch-pwtw-gtc or come to the school media center. Free childcare is provided by the YMCA.
