Carpool
Please be patient at dismissal this week as our new Kindergarten students and families learn our dismissal routines. If you need a carpool number please contact the front office.
Kindergarten Meet the Teacher
Please know that Kindergarten Meet the Teacher is on Tuesday, September 3rd from 4-5pm. We are excited to see all our kindergarten students together on Wednesday, September 4th for the first day for all Kindergarten students.
As noted in our Parent Handbook, please know that families are welcome to walk their students to class the first full day of school. After that time, parents will drop students off at the designated areas and staff will support students getting to class.
GEARS - Behavior Expectations
Brentwood staff and students work together to create a positive atmosphere for learning and safety. Students are expected to treat others with kindness and respect, to be responsible in completing assignments, and to support and assist each other in the learning process. All classrooms, bus, cafeteria, and playground rules are developed with these goals in mind. Students are not permitted to interfere with the well-being and learning of others.

School-wide Calendar
Brentwood will be utilizing our website calendar that will contain important dates for families, and is located on our main website under “Upcoming Events.” We will use this as another communication tool of important dates and events that occur at Brentwood.

School Communication
Please make sure that you are receiving school communication from Ms. McKinley. There have been some families that have stated that they are not receiving the school communication. It is important that you are receiving this information as it contains important announcements. Please check out the following link for more information on school messenger: https://www.wcpss.net/schoolmessenger.
If you are not receiving school communication, contact our front office at (919)850-8720 so that we can verify what information you have in our system.
Please visit our website, www.wcpss.net/brentwoodes for more information about Brentwood Magnet Elementary. Ms. McKinley will send home a weekly School Messenger to all families every Sunday evening. These messages are located on the Brentwood website at the following link.
Supply List
In addition to parent provided school supplies, the school will also provide some supplies for all students. Please see the supply list below.
How will your child be getting home?
Once you are informed about your child’s teacher, please make sure to communicate with the teacher on how your child will be getting home in the afternoon. If it needs to change, call the main office by 2:30 on the day of the change (919-850-8720).

REMINDER: Brentwood Afterschool Program
We will continue partnering with Raleigh Parks and Recreation for our After School program. The program will be held on the Brentwood campus on school days from 3:00 - 6:00 for a cost.
The program strives to make available a high-quality program at a low cost. The goal is to include a variety of curriculum-based programs such as arts & crafts, fitness & nutrition, and homework assistance.

PAGPor favor tenga paciencia a la hora de salida esta semana mientras nuestros nuevos estudiantes de jardín de infantes y sus familias aprenden nuestras rutinas de salida. Si necesita un número de viaje compartido, comuníquese con la oficina principal.

RECORDATORIO: Programa extraescolar de Brentwood
Continuaremos asociándonos con Parques y Recreación de Raleigh para nuestro programa extracurricular. El programa se llevará a cabo en el campus de Brentwood los días escolares de 3:00 a 6:00 por un costo.
El programa se esfuerza por ofrecer un programa de alta calidad a bajo costo. El objetivo es incluir una variedad de programas basados en el plan de estudios, como artes y manualidades, acondicionamiento físico y nutrición, y asistencia con las tareas.
