Field Day Thursday, May 23, 2024
Thank you to everyone who helped out with Field Day yesterday. It was a huge success!
4th Grade Parent Volunteers Needed
As the end of the school year approaches, we are eagerly preparing for the 5th Grade Promotion Ceremony. This event celebrates our 5th-grade students' accomplishments and marks an important milestone in their academic journey.
As is Wiley tradition, 4th grade parents assist with setup and decoration, delivering and managing reception refreshments and various other tasks to ensure the event runs smoothly. Please contact Marilyn Lall at president@wileypta.org if you are able to assist.
WileyKin Summer Playdate Volunteers Needed
The WileyKin program is a series of informal playdates at local playgrounds for rising Wiley kindergarteners and their families that allow students to meet future classmates and thus ease their transition into Wiley. Rising 1st graders are invited to attend also. We’re seeking volunteers to lead WileyKin playdates in June and August. Please contact Marilyn at president@wileypta.org if you are interested.
Garden Volunteers Needed
The PTA Sustainability Committee needs volunteers to help maintain the vegetable garden this summer. Sign up to weed, water, and harvest for a week (Monday-Sunday). No gardening experience needed, instructions and training will be provided before your chosen week.
Purchase 2024-2025 School Supplies Online
Wiley PTA has partnered with EPI to save you time in shopping for classroom supply kits. For each of your children, order one grade-level pack and one “All Languages/Electives Classes” pack and they will be delivered to your child’s classroom.
You can also order additional packs for students in need by adding extra packs to your cart and labeling them Donation Donation (first and last name).
To purchase, visit www.educationalproducts.com/shoppacks and enter Wiley’s school ID: WIL772. Prices will increase on June 3.
Yearbooks For Sale
There are a limited number of 2023-24 Wiley yearbooks available for sale. Purchase here before they sell out! Please add your student’s name, grade and teacher’s name to the Delivery Information section at checkout.
Lost and Found
Please check out the current Lost and Found inventory. Items that have been in Lost and Found since 4/26 will be donated today! You may claim your item(s) in the Lost and Found Room in the cafeteria.
Dreambox Usage
Students are expected to complete at least 5 lessons a week in Dreambox. A Harvard University study has shown that just 60 minutes of DreamBox lessons per week can fast-track your students up to two grade levels in a year. We recommend that students complete five or more lessons per week with DreamBox Learning because students who complete five lessons each week show more math growth than those who complete fewer lessons. One lesson takes about 15 minutes. Dreambox is adaptive and constantly responding to the skills and understanding of your child. Having your child complete at least one Dreambox lesson a week can help your child’s teacher better understand their need, extend their learning, and/or address learning gaps.
