Ms. Jessica Loehman
I have been a school psychologist for Wake County since 2015 and love serving the school system that I grew up in. I graduated from Meredith College with a B.S. in psychology. I then went on to NC State University and graduated with a PhD in school psychology. As a school psychologist, I support the social, emotional, and academic success of all students. I use a data-based, problem solving approach to help identify students’ strengths and needs and determine how to best support them at school. I can provide direct support to students through assessment, interventions, and counseling and/or indirect support through parent and teacher consultation and collaboration. Finally, I work with the special education staff at Oak Grove to identify students in need of special education services. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns about your child’s success at Oak Grove.
The traditional role of psycho-educational evaluations still remains a significant part of my day-to-day job, which allows me to collaborate with the speech-language pathologist and occupational therapist on a regular basis. These evaluations also provide me the opportunity to work one-on-one with students, in order to gather information to assist with Special Education eligibility determination and relevant educational planning. It is an honor to assist both of my schools as their school psychologist and I greatly value my time with staff and students!
When I'm not serving Oak Grove as their school psychologist, I live in Holly Springs with my husband, two children, and Irish Terrier. In my free time I enjoy: reading, spending time with friends and family, baking, and cheering on the NC State Wolfpack.
