Technology & Instruction Integration

Tech and Instruction

Mission

  • At Buckhorn Creek Elementary School, our Technology and Instruction Integration program aligns with the WCPSS strategic plan by bringing the district initiatives of 3 to 1 device deployment and BYOD together. Through the purposeful use of devices, students will collaborate as critical thinkers to support a culture of creativity, take risks to their build college and career readiness, and learn to navigate the world as responsible digital citizens.

Bringing School Technology and BYOD Together

  • School Technology and BYOD Technology serve the same purpose of supporting instructional knowledge.  Students should engage with technology in a manner that produces creative learning, supports collaboration, garners student reflection, lends support to access of high quality content, and builds the background knowledge of every child as they strive to meet learning objectives.  Technology provides students not only with a venue for learning, but also with the means to demonstrate their own learning through a balanced approach to assessment. Student driven portfolios should connect the learning of the classroom, student knowledge, and reflection to create a holistic assessment approach.
