Welcome to the Early Learning Center at Memory Road!
Welcome to the Early Learning Center at Memory Road, where young learners take their first steps toward a lifetime of success! As the first stand-alone Pre-K center for WCPSS, we are dedicated to nurturing curiosity, fostering growth, and building a strong foundation for every child.
Our Vision
At the Early Learning Center, we are dedicated to helping every child grow, learn, and thrive in a fun, caring, and high-quality environment. We use hands-on learning, meaningful connections, and thoughtful planning to support each child’s unique journey.
This year’s theme, One Team, One Dream, celebrates the power of working together. Just like our caterpillar mascot, we believe that with time, care, and teamwork, amazing transformations can happen. We look forward to a joyful year of learning and growing together with our students and families!
Meet Our Director: Ms. Sherry Williams
With over 28 years in education, I am honored to serve as the Director of this exceptional learning community. I hold a degree in Human Development and Family Studies with a B-K Licensure from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and a Master’s in School Administration from North Carolina Central University.
I have always had a passion for early childhood education. I believe it lays the foundation for a child’s future—academically, socially, and emotionally. My experience includes teaching Pre-K, kindergarten, and second grade, as well as serving in district leadership roles such as Academic Language Coach, Coordinating Teacher, and Senior Administrator for Licensed Pre-K Classrooms.
I believe that strong teaching, a nurturing environment, and meaningful family partnerships help children thrive. Together, we will create a community that celebrates each child, fosters a love of learning, and supports our educators’ growth.
As a proud mother of twin young men, I understand the power of early education. Outside of school, I enjoy time with family and friends, beach trips, travel, and cheering on the Pittsburgh Steelers!

I am currently pursuing my Doctor of Education (Ed.D) in Leadership and Innovation, reflecting my ongoing commitment to lifelong learning and educational excellence.
Over the years, I have had the opportunity to teach in both general and special education settings across New York and Hawaii. These experiences have strengthened my belief in the importance of inclusive, nurturing, and play-based learning environments that celebrate the individuality of every child.
I am excited to collaborate with each of you and look forward to an amazing year of growth, connection, and joyful learning!
