    Dear ELC Families, 

    We’ve had another great week at the ELC! Students are settling in beautifully, actively engaged in learning, and really getting the hang of classroom routines and procedures. It’s been wonderful to watch them enter the building with more independence each day and see how they are learning to use materials in their classrooms and throughout the building. Their confidence and excitement are growing and we love to see it!

    Today, we  had our first lockdown drill. Our students did an amazing job following their teachers’ directions and practicing calmly. Just like fire drills, lockdown drills are an important part of our safety procedures. They help us make sure that students and staff know what to do in the unlikely event of an emergency. Practicing together helps everyone feel more prepared and safe.

    October is a very busy month full of fun activities for our Caterpillars and families—thank you for staying connected and engaged!

    📅 Upcoming Events

    • Tomorrow – FSP Day (No School for Students)
       Families, join us for A Day in the Life of Preschool! This workshop will give you an inside look at the exciting day-to-day activities your children experience at school. We can’t wait to welcome you.

    •  October 7 – ELC Wear Pink Day!
       In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we are asking all students and staff to wear pink. Let’s show our support together!

    • October 7 – Parent Council Informational Meeting (Virtual)
       Time: 3:00–4:00 PM
      Parents are invited to join us virtually to learn more about the purpose of our Parent Council, explore ways to get involved, and help plan next steps to support our school community.

    • October 17 – Viva Hispanic Heritage Celebration
      We will celebrate with our annual Shoebox Parade at 8:45 AM.
      The parade will be live-streamed on our Facebook page! Parents, family members, and friends are invited to tune in and watch. Afterwards, classes will rotate to enjoy activities highlighting Hispanic culture, including art, storytelling, and music.

    • ☕ October 21 – Coffee with Admin
       Join us for a chance to connect with our leadership team over coffee!  Come enjoy a nice cup of coffee and chat with our admin team about who we are, our school mission and vision, and other important school information.

    • 8:30 AM – In Person Session

    • 12:00 PM – Virtual Session

    • October – Parent-Teacher Conferences
       Teachers will be reaching out to schedule conferences this month. Meetings will be arranged based on family availability.

    • 🍂 October 27–31 – Fall Spirit Week
       Mark your calendars for a week of fun and school spirit! Stay tuned for more information about themed dress-up days and activities.

    • 🎃 October 31 – ELC Fall Festival (FSP Day – No School for Students)
       Families are invited to join us for a fun-filled morning of Math, Literacy, and Science activities with a Fall twist!  It’s sure to be a wonderful way to celebrate the season while learning together!
