RMS Administrative Team
Ms. Angela Cooper, Principal
My name is Angela Cooper, and I am the proud principal of Rolesville MS! I am also a lifelong Wolfpack fan! I completed my undergraduate and master's program at NC State University.
Professionally, I have been dedicated to the field of education for more than twenty-five years. I have worked with students ranging in age from Kindergarten through 8th grade in a variety of roles. I have been a middle school English-language arts teacher, Middle School Instructional Coach, a Year-Round and Traditional MS Assistant Principal and an Elementary Principal. I am thrilled to bring my skills as an educational leader to Rolesville Middle School.
On a personal note, I have lived in the Northeastern area of Wake County for over 15 years. I have one son and he graduated from Rolesville HS in 2017. We love Rolesville and all this community offers.
Mrs. Susan Lavallee, Assistant Principal (6th Grade)
My name is Susan Lavallee and I am an Assistant Principal here at Rolesville Middle School (RMS). I have been at RMS since 2013. Prior to being a school administrator, I served as a Special Education teacher.
I grew up in Massachusetts and met my husband in Kindergarten (yes, you read that right). We moved to NC in 2007 as we fell in love with the area and decided this is where we wanted to raise our family. We have two children (Greg, 16, and Alexis, 12).
I have recently begun my doctorate in Educational Leadership at East Carolina University.
In my spare time, I enjoy being outside, going to the beach as much as I can, and traveling (we are true MouseJunkies and love Disney!).
Dr. Michael Applewhite, Assistant Principal (7th Grade)
My name is Michael Applewhite and I am an Assistant Principal here at Rolesville Middle School (RMS). I have been at RMS since 2015. Prior to arriving at RMS, I served as a College and Career Specialist for the Chicago Public Schools. I have also had the opportunity to serve as a building principal at all grade levels (elementary, middle, and high school). I received my doctorate in Educational Leadership in 2009 from Fayetteville State University.
I have enjoyed sports my whole life and had the opportunity to experience it at both the college and professional levels (Arizona Cardinals).
My wife and I reside in Wake Forest. In my spare time, I enjoy going to the gym as well as spending time with my extended family.
Mr. Javier Martinez, Assistant Principal (8th Grade)
Javier Martinez is an assistant principal for Rolesville Middle School. After graduating from The Ohio State University in 2002, Mr. Martinez found his way to education through his year of AmeriCorps service in Portland, Oregon. In 2003, he returned to The Ohio State University to complete his Master’s degree in school counseling. Mr. Martinez has worked within WCPSS since 2005 in various roles, including School Counselor at Ligon Middle School and Enloe High School. Mr. Martinez also helped establish the Wake Young Men’s Leadership Academy in 2010 as Dean of Students.
