    Bulldog Families,

Happy Fri-yay! We did it! Another York-tastic week here at YES!

Here is this week's Bulldog Blast:

Be sure to check it out for all of the amazing things happening here on campus and out and about in our community.

As you know, we are in another transition with the COVID-19 pandemic. Staff will help to support students as we shift to mask optional within our school community starting Monday, March 7th. Per NCDHHS guidance (which we have successfully been following since the beginning of the pandemic) universal masking is now a less important tool in lower risk settings like schools.

    • Masks are recommended in indoor settings for people at high risk for severe disease and who are not up to date on vaccines; and because masks can add a layer of protection for those who want it, we support students and staff who choose to wear a mask.
    • Masks are not required, and individual families are deciding on their own whether to continue masking or not.

    • If you need a mask, ask a staff member and they will be able to help you get one.

    • We are a school community and we both respect and support individual staff, family and student decisions.

    • All of this is part of our work as a YES Community of Care in maintaining our learning environment.

We recognize that there are feelings and emotions that exist for all involved. We are committed to ensuring that our students know that our school is a safe, respectful, caring place for learning and growing. If you have any questions or needs, please do not hesitate to reach out. Enjoy the weekend, rest up and recharge for Monday.
