Degrees and Certifications:

Ms. Alex Collins

Hello, my name is Alex Collins! I was born and raised in Benson, North Carolina. I got my undergraduate degree from Campbell University in Fitness Wellness Management with hopes of being a Wellness Coordinator. I had always loved school and learning and had desires to be a teacher. After working with Clayton Parks and Recreation and getting involved in their youth programs, I decided to go to graduate school to get my Master of Arts in Teaching in Elementary Education. During that time, I began student teaching at FVES and knew I wanted to stay. I did my student teaching in kindergarten and was thrilled when I was hired as a fourth-grade teacher during the 21 – 22 school year. Now that I have moved to fifth grade, I will have the opportunity to continue working with the amazing kids I have gotten to know. Since I am moving up with them, I know just where to pick up to help them learn and grow based on their previous knowledge!

More about me - I still have a passion for fitness and wellness, so I love being active in and out of the classroom. I love animals! I have three dogs and three horses. I also love dancing, crafting, gaming, and anything outdoors. When I’m not teaching, you can find me at church, by the water, watching anything Marvel, jamming to classic rock, or at home with my family and fur babies. My goal is to help children learn, of course, but also help them feel loved and know that they are capable of great things. I am blessed and excited to work with all my students, their families, and the amazing staff here to help our kids grow into lifelong learners!
