Sept. 3, 2020 - Friday Device Distribution Canceled

    There has been a delay in shipment of devices from the supplier. As a result, we unfortunately need to cancel the scheduled distribution on Friday, Sept. 4.

    We invite you to pick up your requested devices on Tuesday, Sept. 8 or Friday, Sept. 11 at one of the following locations:

    • Apex High School - 1501 Laura Duncan Rd, Apex
    • Enloe High School - 128 Clarendon Crescent, Raleigh
    • Knightdale High School - 100 Bryan Chalk Lane, Knightdale

    Distribution center hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. We will also have distribution centers open the following week.

    We have been experiencing longer lines at Apex High, so you may consider visiting one of our other two sites.

    What caused the delay?
    Our Chromebook supplier experienced an equipment failure earlier this week. While the issue has been fixed, it did result in a delay in this week's shipment. That issue was further compounded by a larger number of parents picking up devices this week.

    Do you have enough devices to meet current demand?
    Yes, we have purchased enough Chromebooks and hotspots to meet current demand. While most districts in North Carolina were affected by a device shortage, we are not. Our district planned ahead in March with our order, putting us in the position of being one of the few school districts that have any devices to distribute. However, we do not have room in our warehouses to store all the Chromebooks we have purchased. We also cannot store them in school buildings for security reasons. So we must wait for devices to arrive in shipments from the supplier in Atlanta.

    We sincerely apologize for this delay. We realize this has been a long process for many of you. We are working as fast as we can to meet the high demand for technology devices, and we will make sure that everyone who requests a device receives one.
