Ms. Zhang is excited to be part of the Wiley family. As a native Chinese speaker, Ms. Zhang grew up in Beijing, completed her undergraduate study in English there and obtained her master degree in International Affairs in Washington, DC. Since she was young, she has always been curious to know the outside world and hopes to experience different cultures. Ms. Zhang has traveled in Asia (Japan, South Korea, Thailand, Singapore), Europe (France, Belgium, The Netherlands, Spain, Italy, Austria, Germany), and Africa (South Africa). Every summer Ms. Zhang brings her daughter back to China to visit family and friends as well as to visit places in China/Asia. She looks forward to exploring the Americas more in the coming years. Ms. Zhang worked for Daimler/Mercedes-Benz China previously. Since she moved with her family to the Triangle region, she found her passion in teaching one of the most beautiful (and challenging) languages to American students. Ms. Zhang feels fortunate to be in her second year to take Wiley students to embark on the journey to explore and learn the Chinese culture as well as the language.
There is a Chinese saying that "no one is too old to learn". It echoes with one of the UN Sustainable Development Goals -- Ensure Inclusive and Quality Education for All and Promote Lifelong Learning. Being a teacher is a noble mission. Ms. Zhang would like to live and learn in her life so that she can support her students to obtain a quality education.
