Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Sharon Abel
Mrs. Abel began teaching in 2003 in New York, from where she originally comes. She received a Master’s degree in Elementary Education and started teaching preschool. She moved to North Carolina in 2006, where she taught First Grade in the Charlotte Mecklenburg School District for two years. In 2008, she moved to Raleigh to be closer to family.
This is Mrs. Abel’s eighth year teaching at Wiley, and she hopes that through teaching, she can share her enthusiasm for learning and help children acquire the skills they need to be successful in life. This is Goal # 4 from the UN 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (substantially increase the number of youth and adults who have relevant skills, including technical and vocational skills, for employment, decent jobs and entrepreneurship).
Mrs. Abel lives in Cary with her husband and her six-year old son. She enjoys cooking, traveling, and spending time outdoors with friends and family. Some of Mrs. Abel's favorite children's books are A Chair for My Mother and Something from Nothing.
