Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Mandy Davis
Mrs. Davis began teaching in 2001, and she is excited to return to Wiley to teach 5th grade math. She grew up in a very small town in Northwest Iowa, got her teaching degree from the University of Northern Iowa (UNI) and moved to San Antonio, Texas to begin her teaching career. She taught middle school math, then moved to Nashville, Tennessee, and taught 3rd grade. Then, she moved back to San Antonio and taught middle school math again.
In the summer of 2016, she and her husband packed up and moved their two daughters, Mirabel and Ida, and dog, Kippa, to Raleigh so her husband could start his new job as a professor at NC State. She really loves teaching and helping students truly understand math so that it makes sense to them.
She also enjoys playing with her daughters, having family movie nights, baking, running and being active and drinking coffee or eating anything that is chocolate.
Wiley seemed like home as soon as Mrs. Davis walked through the doors of the school. She is excited to help all learners appreciate their strengths and the strengths of others through cultural awareness and is thrilled that this school strives for that as a community every day.
The UN Global Goal for Quality Education is the goal that speaks to Mrs. Davis the most. Every child deserves a high-quality, equitable education, no matter their race, gender, religion, culture, or disability.
