I was a classroom teacher for 19 years which I enjoyed tremendously! I have taught Elementary, Middle and High School and a classroom teacher for 19 years. During this time, I was a NC State Assistance Team Reviewer for Low Achieving Schools. worked for the Dept of Public Instruction as a Closing the Achievement Gap State Consultant. I worked for Wake County as an Instructional Resource Teacher, High School Small Learning Communities Coordinator and a Literacy Coach. Currently, I serve MEPHS as the Intervention Coordinator since 2011.
As the Intervention Coordinator I work to support the students and teachers and to provide additional academic and behavioral support to ensure all students have the opportunity to be successful and move toward graduation and Career and/or College Readiness. As an Intervention specialist, I meet with students, parents, teachers, and with other stakeholders who have the academic and social well being and interest of all of our students at heart.
I enjoy working with the staff, students, and parents in this school community!
