I, Amy Ahart, have been involved in education for over 18 years. I hold a Master of School Administration Degree in Education Administration and Supervision from North Carolina Central University, as well as, a Bachelor of the Arts Degree in English Literature and Elementary Education from the State University of New York College at Potsdam. I also was a member of class 13 with the Principal Fellows Program.
I formally started my career in education in 1998 after relocating to Fayetteville, NC from upstate New York. Since then I have had the opportunity to teach kindergarten, 4th and 5th grade. I have also worked as a math consultant for 6th graders, an elementary math interventionist and this is my sixth year serving as an assistant principal.
I believe in being a visible assistant principal who works diligently to form strong and positive relationships with the students, parents, colleagues, and the community to ensure that the students at Zebulon Elementary succeed academically. Students should be fostered to develop a vision to be lifelong learners. I believe that all children can be successful if challenged and supported with rigorous, purposeful instruction. I am a strong advocate for the magnet program and has had the experience to work in a Core Knowledge, a Montessori and finally a Gifted and Talented Magnet school.
