Fourth and Fifth Graders are selected each year to participate in our Art Club.
    • In Fourth Grade, our Art Club students participate in the Empty Bowl Project. Each year, beginning in September, our 4th Graders create a different type of bowl form which are bartered off later for a set amount of non-perishable foods. All of the food collected from this unique art and food drive goes to benefit the food pantry at Garner Area Ministries. As of 2014, we have collected over 15,000 items of food to help fight hunger within the Garner community.
    • Our Fifth Grade Art Club students participate each year in our Chairs of Hope Project. Those students work on painting wooden chairs using a different theme each year. When completed, our chairs are put on auction in April with all the proceeds going to benefit the Garner Relay For Life and The American Cancer Society. Also, as of 2014, our Chairs of Hope, has raised over $22,000 in the fight against cancer. Feel free to visit our Chairs of Hope website for more information- www.chairsofhope.wordpress.com
Our Art Club is designed to provide our students with an opportunity to use their gifts and talents as an outreach to our community.
