I am excited to join Fuquay Varina Elementary this year, and have been teaching in Wake County for eight years. Before moving to North Carolina I taught 5th grade as well as high school in Michigan. Prior to that I was a middle school teacher in Massachusetts, and taught in an elementary school in RI. As you can see, I know where your student has been academically and where they need to be to prepare them for their middle school years. They will be encouraged to take risks, work to their personal best, and above all have fun. I received my masters degree as a reading specialist from Rhode Island College, and received my undergraduate degree from the University of Rhode Island in elementary education. My husband and I have two college aged boys, Brendan is studying at ECU (go Pirates), and our youngest, Sean, is a freshman this year at UNC (go Heels). In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family which includes our two dogs Lily and Molly who is a Canine for Therapy dog. My other interests include reading, pottery, and going to the beach. I look forward to working as a team and watching your child grow. You will be amazed at their growth this year!
