Principal's Message

  • Welcome to River Bend Elementary.  I am excited and humble to serve our school and community with the goal of making our students prepared to graduate college & workforce ready. To accomplish this, I will work collaboratively with parents and community stakeholders to provide our students with a high level of education that is built on a foundation of relationships and rigorous learning.  My goal for  River Bend ES is to create an environment where students are empowered to discover their strengths and to achieve their maximum potential for excellence, academically, socially, and emotionally in a safe and supportive atmosphere. Since Covid 19 has impacted all our lives, it is critical we work as a collaborative family unit to support our students emotionally and academically.  To be #RBEStrong means our admin team, staff and community are essential to the success of our students.

Assistant Principal's Message

  • “Knowledge will bring you the opportunity to make a difference.” ~ Claire Fagin

It was at the age of 17, I knew without any doubt, I wanted to pursue education as a life long career. In 2002, I graduated from Hampton University with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and the following year, completed my Master's in Teaching, Early Childhood Education. I came back to the Wake County Public School System and begin teaching fourth grade. After several years of teaching, I knew I was ready to stretch myself as an educator and attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, earning a Masters in School Administration. My educational journey has led me here, joining the River Bend Elementary family as the Assistant Principal.

When people ask me what I do in my free time, I often laugh because I do a little bit of everything. I love traveling and one of my favorite places is right here in North Carolina, Wrightsville Beach. I also enjoy the simple things like reading a good book, spending time with family and friends, being active or cheering on my Duke Blue Devils!

As a life long educator, I am excited to have the opportunity to lead, to teach, to model, and to learn!
