    Wade Martin, Principal 

    Wade Martin is a native of New York but has lived in North Carolina since 1994.  He is a graduate of the State University of New York at Oneonta and North Carolina State University. Mr. Martin’s entire educational career of 25 years has been here in Wake County. For more than 17 years, he has served as a school administrator for WCPSS. Mr. Martin was a teacher at Enloe High School, worked as an assistant principal for Needham Broughton High School and as principal at Martin GT Magnet Middle School and Middle Creek High School. Most recently, he served as the Assistant Superintendent for School Choice, Planning and Assignment for WCPSS before being named as the founding principal for Willow Spring High School.

    Mr. Martin enjoys spending time with his wife, two daughters who both graduated from Middle Creek High School and their doodle Rosie!  Watching Premier League Soccer, hiking & walking, and spending time at the mountains or the beach keeps Mr. Martin busy in his free time.

    Mr. Martin could not be prouder to serve the community as the founding principal of Willow Spring High School.  Building a deeply connected community to support a personalized learning experience for WSHS students will be his focus as the Storm begins in August 2021!

    Lessie Anderson, Assistant Principal

    Lessie Anderson is a native of Raleigh NC and a product of WCPSS, GO CAPS!  She is also a two-time graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, East Carolina University and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Ms. Anderson has over 20 years of experience in education as a high school math teacher, adjunct instructor, education consultant, instructional coach, and school improvement coach in NC, SC, AL and NY.  Most recently, she served as an Assistant Principal at Middle Creek High School.

    Ms. Anderson enjoys spending time with her family (Levi and Laden), watching movies, traveling and being a basketball mom.

    Ms. Anderson leads with the belief that all students deserve a quality education.  She is excited to witness the power of “The Storm" and how personalized learning will transform the classroom experience for each and every student.

    Eric Burleson, Assistant Principal for Instruction

    Eric Burleson is a native of Stanly County, North Carolina. He is a graduate of Elon College and North Carolina State University. Mr. Burleson is in his 21st year in education, prior to joining the Willow Spring Administrative Team, Mr. Burleson served as an Assistant Principal at Holly Springs High School for 13 years. Mr. Burleson has experience teaching middle school math and science in Guilford County, Wake County, and Stamford, Connecticut.

    Mr. Burleson loves to spend time with his wife, his two daughters, and their Golden Retriever, Lilla! He enjoys running, traveling to the beach and the mountains, and cheering on the PACK!

    Mr. Burleson is excited to be a part of the opening of Willow Spring High School! He knows that a Storm of Excellence is on the horizon! He believes that WSHS will be a model for what a high school should be as it seeks to both prepare its students and serve its community.

    Crystal Gregory, Assistant Principal

    Crystal Gregory was born in Guilford County, North Carolina. She is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro & North Carolina A&T State University, and Appalachian State University. While she absolutely loves being a school administrator, she has also worked as a family and marriage counselor, non profit administrator, and grant writer before becoming an educator. While in the classroom, she proudly taught Family and Consumer Sciences. Prior to coming to Willow Spring High School, she worked as an Assistant Principal at Fuquay-Varina High School.

    She enjoys traveling abroad, tackling new experiences, and is a self proclaimed foodie. When not in school, she can be found playing in her craft room, or curled up with a good novel.

    Crystal Gregory is the proud wife to a former Agricultural Teacher and Funeral Director. Together, they have 3 children- Cayden, Addison, and Jennifer. She is excited about getting to be a part of the Storm! She sees it as an opportunity for us all to be brave, fierce, find our path in the midst of a challenge.
