Does your child like to build, construct, design or make things? 
Is your child interested in the arts like drama, dance, painting, drawing or music?

We are the first and only elementary school in Wake County 
to offer this unique Arts and Design theme.

We believe in...

1. Design Thinking: Students solve problems using the design process.
2. Independent Creative Expression: Students get to choose how they demonstrate their learning.
3. Hands-on Investigative Curiosity: Students are encouraged to ask questions and explore possible answers.
4. Collaborative Discovery: Students learn from not only the teacher, but from each other.

This unique approach to learning is incorporated in all content areas and the design process  and the arts are embedded in our everyday coursework. 

Students still have Art, Media, Music, PE, or STEAM class each day.

In addition, our school has TWO design labs full of design materials where students can go to create their prototypes at the end of a unit.

Our students can continue the pathway to arts and design learning by attending East Millbrook Magnet Middle School after leaving Wildwood Forest.
