This is Ms. Cooper with a weekly update! I hope everyone had a pleasant weekend! Parents, please see important information below.

RMS Angel Tree: We would like to ask if RMS staff and families would like to volunteer to sponsor a Rolesville student on our RMS Angel Tree for Christmas this year. A sign up genius is created for you to sign up to sponsor a student here: RMS ANGEL TREE LINK

Important things to note:

• Please only 1-2 people sign up per student with a spending limit of $75. 
• The sign up genius will be open from November 26, 2024-December 6th, 2024 
• Please label all gifts with the initials from the slot you sign up for to help with distributing. 
• Gifts need to be delivered to the front office between December 9-18th to allow Ms. Lincoln time to deliver gifts prior to Christmas Break.

Winter Arts Concerts: Please join us on Tuesday, December 3 for Choir concert and on Thursday, December 5 for our Band concert.  Both events will begin at 6:30.  There is no charge for the events.

PTA Vacancy: The PTA is looking for an organized, enthusiastic person that is eager to help with our fundraising initiatives for the next school year. 

 

Sem 1 - Gallery Exhibit and Walk Through: Thursday, December 5th from 5pm- 6pm. Light refreshments will be provided. All are welcome. 

Athletics: Winter sports pictures are Tuesday 12/3 during practice. More information will be shared by coaches on Monday.  

Atten”Dance”: We are having our first AttenDANCE at school on December 5th 2024 during elective times for all grade levels and tracks. All students are eligible to attend this dance if they meet the following criteria: NO UNEXCUSED DAYS FROM 11/12/24-12/3/24: A doctor’s note must be provided to excuse any days to avoid being marked unexcused. The dance will occur during the school day so transportation is not needed, nor will students miss their core classes.

We would like to have as many Rams as possible to participate in the AttenDANCE to celebrate perfect attendance FROM 11/12/24-12/3/24. Please encourage students to be present and on time. Students who are not eligible to attend the dance will go to their regular elective classes during that time.

Attention 7^th Grade Parents: As part of the 7th grade curriculum in Wake County, students are introduced to the signs of suicide (SOS).  This lesson teaches students how to recognize signs of depression and suicidal thoughts as well as what to do if they have concerns for themselves or a friend.  Ms. Hayes, the 7th grade counselor, will be teaching this lesson on the following dates Track 4 November 18th-19th and track 3 December 9th.

Please review the letter below and reach out to Ms. Hayes if you have questions or do not wish to have your student participate.  The form only needs to be returned if you do not wish to have your student participate.

• Provided refreshments for the National Junior Honor Society Inductions.

Atten”Dance”: Tendremos nuestro primer AttenDANCE en la escuela el 5 de diciembre de 2024 durante los horarios electivos para todos los niveles de grado y pistas. Todos los estudiantes son elegibles para asistir a este baile si cumplen con los siguientes criterios: NO HAY DÍAS INJUSTIFICADOS DEL 11/12/24 AL 12/3/24: Se debe proporcionar una nota del médico para justificar cualquier día para evitar que se marque como injustificado. El baile se llevará a cabo durante el día escolar, por lo que no se necesita transporte, ni los estudiantes perderán sus clases principales.

Atención padres de séptimo grado: Como parte del plan de estudios de séptimo grado en el condado de Wake, se les presenta a los estudiantes los signos de suicidio (SOS). Esta lección les enseña a los estudiantes cómo reconocer los signos de depresión y pensamientos suicidas, así como qué hacer si tienen preocupaciones por ellos mismos o por un amigo. La Sra. Hayes, la consejera de séptimo grado, enseñará esta lección en las siguientes fechas: pista 4 del 18 al 19 de noviembre y pista 3 el 9 de diciembre.

Revise la carta a continuación y comuníquese con la Sra. Hayes si tiene preguntas o no desea que su estudiante participe. El formulario solo debe devolverse si no desea que su estudiante participe.
