Shout Out to Those Serving Lead Mine

 

A huge shout out to several long-term substitutes serving vacancies at Lead Mine Elementary - Ms. DeRoche, Ms. Johnson, and Ms. Rozier!

 

Also shouting out our volunteers and visitors...supporting in classrooms, the cafeteria, small groups, and mentoring one on one.

No Left Turns

 

Please click here to see how you can legally navigate the NO LEFT TURN onto our campus coming up Old Lead Mine Road - without making an illegal u-turn in the middle of Old Lead Mine Road. Although Old Lead Mine Road is not our jurisdiction, these are our kids and families that are impacted. Please know, this is a traffic law on Old Lead Mine Road as well as an expectation on our campus drive. This law and expectation are in place even when there is not a staff member on the corner to monitor. We do not have the human resources available daily to monitor adult driving behaviors on Old Lead Mine Road. Please help us keep our Leopards safe. 

 

Social Emotional Screener

 

Families of our 1st & 3rd grade Leopards should have received a letter outlining a new social emotional screener that WCPSS will be administering to students. This school year, only our 1st & 3rd graders will be screened. Next school year, K-5 students will be screened. 1st & 3rd grade families can reach out to their classroom teachers should they have questions.

 

Middle School Registration

 

5th grade families should have received a letter this week that outlines the middle school registration process that our 5th graders will engage in very soon! Please reach out to your Leopard's teacher or our school counselors should you have questions related to middle school registration processes. 

 

Can you help us?

 

Our classroom, interactive promethean boards have arrived ~ and we now need to disassemble the old, outdated smart boards. The old boards are attached to the walls and are covering up useful, whiteboard space. We are looking for four-six people who are proficient with tools and can help us to take them off the walls. Please reach out to Ms. Harrison, cmharrison@wcpss.net, should you be one of those people who could help us out!

 

 

Mark Your Calendars!

 

Super Kids Day - Friday, April 28th - email Coach Hills (bhills@wcpss.net) if you are interested in volunteering at this year's celebration of Super Kids!

 

EOG Dates - Wednesday, May 31st, Thursday, June 1st, and Tuesday, June 6th. Make-ups tests will be administered on various dates in June. There WILL BE a retest opportunity for any students who are proficient on their report cards and not proficient on their EOG test.

 

5th Grade Promotion Ceremony - Thursday, June 8th, 5:30pm arrival - promotion celebration will be from 6:00pm-7:00pm.
