1st General PTA Meeting Coming Up! - 9.23.22 Memo
Carpool Driver Expectations Not Being Met
Thank you to all for ensuring you have shared the carpool expectations with all those supporting the arrival and dismissal of our Leopards. We continue to have drivers choosing to make left turns into and out of our campus as well as have moving vehicles making contact with our walkers or bike riders.
The Raleigh Police Department and I met on campus Friday morning to discuss a plan for behaviors related to breaking laws - which is outside of my jurisdiction.
Families who are seeing and or experiencing continued poor choices are encouraged to reach out directly to RPD. Lead Mine is now serviced by the Glenwood RPD Office.
Phone Messages from Lead MIne
When receiving a phone call from Lead Mine, please give your phone message a few moments to populate prior to calling the front desk to ask them what the call is referencing. This will help our front desk in being attentive to our onsite needs rather than answering an excessive amount of phone calls. Thank you in advance.
Fall Picture Day
Individual pictures will be taken on October 5th. You can order online by visiting https://bit.ly/LMEPictureDay!
Lead Mine PTA
Our PTA will have its first general membership meeting on Thursday, September 29th. The meeting will be in person at 5:00pm in the LME Cafeteria. Please plan to join us to learn more about our plans for the 22-23 school year.
Do you know a community member, organization, or family that would be interested in sponsoring the work of our PTA? If so, please share the opportunities for Lead Mine Sponsorships linked here. This is a 'no-fuss' fundraiser type event where our PTA puts every dime earned back into our school ~ our kids benefit through cultural arts events, spirit wear for every Leopard, discounted field trip costs, school & community events, and more!
The first PTA fundraiser is coming soon! Our annual Leopard Laps event will take place on Friday, October 28th! Be on the lookout for more information to come home in Tuesday folders soon!
Currently, our PTA is supporting a need that has been noticed as we begin our school year. Our school has seen an increased need for healthy, non-perishable snacks and water bottles for students who have not been able to bring them or have forgotten them. Please click here to sign up to donate to our Little Leopards. Thank you for supporting each other!
Substitutes Needed
We have had several daily substitute openings. If you are interested in substituting at Lead Mine, please complete the WCPSS Substitute process. You can then only pick up Lead MIne jobs and/or we can call you direct when we have jobs available.
The WCPSS Substitute application process is linked here!
Volunteers & Visitors
If you would like to attend field trips and/or work with our Leopards on campus, please complete the volunteer process. You must complete the process on a WCPSS campus. If you were approved last year, you do not have to complete the process again. There is a backlog in applications so if you have completed the online process and haven't heard back, it is likely in the queue!
If you would like to support Lead Mine as a visitor, please reach out to your child's teacher and/or our specialist teachers about ways you can support our work!
