National School Social Worker Appreciation Week: Next week is Social Worker’s Appreciation Week.  Let’s make time to celebrate our SW, Mrs. Cox-Smith.  Mrs. Cox-Smith, thank you so much for all that you do for our school community!  We appreciate you!

Read Across America Week: It's time to celebrate reading! March 3rd-7th will be a spirit week to celebrate Read Across America. Teachers will share the themes for each day with all families.

Spring Picture Day: Get those smiles ready.  We will have our Spring Picture Day on March 6.  Students will also take their Annual Class Picture on this date.  

Art to Remember: Your child has created some beautiful artwork.  Please view the following links to learn about how you can purchase their artwork for a small fee.  Proceeds will support the Wakelon Art Program.  (English Version)  (Spanish Version)

Culture Compass: Here is the Culture Compass/SEL Update Newsletter for the week of March 3, 2025. 

The school character trait for the month of March is integrity.  Please view the Culture Compass for additional information regarding integrity and how to support your young person’s learning this month.

Wakelon 2nd Grade Families: Please see the attached letter (English and Spanish) about upcoming Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT) testing that will be happening in March for all WCPSS 2nd grade students. Wakelon's testing will be on March 3rd, 5th, and 6th beginning at 9:30. Please make sure your child is on time so they do not have to make it up in a different setting. If you have questions, please reach out to Ms. Stephens. 

PTA Meeting: We will have our monthly PTA meeting on Monday, March 3rd at 5:30.  The meeting will take place in our school’s Media Center.
