LPES MascotWelcome Kindergarten Families!

Dear Rising Kindergarten Families,

Welcome to Laurel Park Elementary School! We are excited about welcoming our new little penguins to LPES in just a few months. To better prepare you for the upcoming transition, please join us on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, for our annual Kindergarten Parent Orientation Night. We will begin at 6:00 PM in our gym with an informational program, followed by time available to answer frequently asked questions. This event is geared toward parents and childcare will not be provided. Our PTA and other school vendors will also be on hand.

On Saturday, June 8th, our PTA will host a Kindergarten Playdate on our recess fields from 10:00 to 11:30 am. You do not have to sign up to attend this event. Simply meet us on the field and sign in at the welcome table!

We look forward to supporting your families as you transition to Kindergarten at Laurel Park!

Sincerely,

Ms. Charelle Lovett, Principal

Welcome from Mrs. MacEntee, K-2 School Counselor

Hello Families! My name is Caren MacEntee, and I serve as the K-2 school counselor for Laurel Park. I am so excited to welcome our newest penguins to Laurel Park! The school counselor's role is to support all students' social-emotional growth. I provide short-term individual counseling, topic-based small groups and classroom guidance lessons, and consultations with parents & teachers. School counselors support students' transitions, especially at the beginning of the school year, ensuring they adjust well to their new school. Students will see me in the hallways welcoming our new kindergartners. When I am tracked out, our 3-5 grade counselor, Mrs. Truskowski will be available to meet with kindergartner students when needed.
