Student Council: Students will have the opportunity this upcoming week to be elected as a representative for their homeroom class. Teachers will be running an election in each homeroom. More information about the role of a homeroom representative can be found on the student council website.
Second Step: All students will engage in a Second Step lesson on Wednesday this week through science classes. Topics and conversation starters are below. Take a few moments to talk with your student about this week’s lesson.
6th grade: How to be an upstander.
Have you witnessed someone being bullied that made you
uncomfortable? What could you do about this situation?
7th grade: What is harassment?
Who can you talk to at school about bullying or harassment?
8th grade: Environmental factors that contribute to bullying.
Where do you think most bullying or harassment takes place? Why?
Credit By Demonstrated Mastery: CDM application window is open November 15 through December 17th. THere are no exceptions for the deadline. To learn more about CDM, visit https://www.wcpss.net/domain/15753. Applications are submitted to Ms. Rowell, 7th grade counselor.
Band Concert: Mr. Riggs and our band students are in concert on Tuesday, November 16th. The concert begins at 7pm in the Martin Auditorium. The concert is open to all members of our community!
Chorus Concert: Ms. Thomas and our chorus students are in concert on Thursday, November 18th. The concert begins at 7pm in the Martin Auditorium. The concert is open to all members of our community!
Spring Musical Auditions: The Theater Department is excited to announce our spring musical will be Shrek Jr.! Auditions will be December 13th - 17th from 2:30-4:30. Please contact Mr. Velarde, rvelarde@wcpss.net, with any questions.
Winter Sports: Tryouts for both boys’ and girls’ basketball begin on Monday, November 15. Please contact Coach Basaldu (jbasaldu@wcpss.net) with any questions.

And the winner is: Seventh Grade! Coach Basaldu held a competition between grade levels to boost competition at home games this fall and our 7th grade showed up, bigtime! They claim a pizza party sponsored by the PTA. Look for more details coming soon.
