Mustang Families,
The 2nd quarter begins on Monday and all students will receive a copy of their 2nd quarter schedule Monday morning. Martin and all Wake County schools are closed on Tuesday for Election Day. We will also be closed on Monday, November 11th, in observance of Veterans Day.
Report Cards: First quarter report cards will be distributed on Friday, November 8th.
Red Out: All students are encouraged to wear red to school on Wednesday for our Red Out games against Oberlin. Soccer and volleyball will be played at Oberlin at 4pm followed by football at Broughton High at 6pm.
Thank You: we are grateful to the parents who helped with the 6th grade Greek Games on Thursday. This was a great undertaking, and your support helped the students have a wonderful learning experience.
Congratulations: We are excited to announce that Martin will be represented on the national stage with 6 members of our Choral Department being selected as members of the 2025 ACDA National Honor Choir. We are very proud of Ms. Thomas and the following vocalists:

Martin Family Coffee: Mark your calendars for the November Martin Family Coffee which will be on Thursday, November 7th, at 6pm. This will be an in-person event as we are partnering with the WCPSS Family Academy for a Healthy Minds workshop, focusing on managing the challenges of traversing adolescence. This session will be offered in both English and Spanish.
6th Grade Students: The Martin Student Council is looking for 6th Grade Student Leaders to represent your team on the Student Council. Those interested should email campaign videos to Ms. Snider (asnider@wcpss.net) before November 14th. Videos should:
- Be no more than 2 minutes
- Include why you would make a great leader
- Ideas to make Martin an even better place to learn and grow
- Include your team’s name
Elections will be Nov. 21 and 22 and each team will elect 2 representatives.
Garden Club: Garden Club is starting but spaces are limited. If interested, please complete the linked Garden Club Interest Form.
Winter Sports: Winter sports tryouts are right around the corner. All 7th and 8th grade students interested in trying out for boys’ and girls’ basketball should take note of the following:
- Winter Tryouts: Boys Basketball- Nov. 18th and 19th from 2:30-4:00; Girls Basketball Tryouts - Nov. 20th and 21st from 2:30-4:00.
- The last day to sign up is Nov. 14th and students MUST have a 100% completed Dragonfly account to try out.

Yearbook: The yearbook staff is working hard on creating this year's book, but we could use fall pictures (outdoor fall festivals, sporting events, other school activities, etc.)! 8th Grade Families: Early College applications opened on Monday, October 14th. The application period is October 14 - December 12. Apply online wcpss.schoolmint.com.

All games/matches begin at 4pm, unless otherwise noted. Tickets can be purchased in advance at GoFan or at the gate for $6. Please note: we will not accept bills larger than $20 at the gate. Students should have rides on campus no later than 5:30.
