April 7, 2024 Mustang News

Good evening Mustang Families. As a reminder, the 3rd quarter ends on Tuesday and Wednesday is a workday. Martin is closed to students on Wednesday. The 4th quarter will begin on Thursday. Students will receive a copy of their 4th quarter schedule in their 1st period class on Thursday.

Solar Eclipse: Monday, we will experience a Solar Eclipse at the end of the school day, leading into dismissal. In preparation for the eclipse, we do ask that families talk with their students about exercising caution when leaving campus and during afterschool activities and to avoid looking at the sun. Additionally, all families received detailed information about safety protocols and the eclipse from the district.

Yearbook: The yearbook staff has worked extremely hard on this year’s yearbook! Once we sell out, there will be no more books available. Order your 2024 Martin Yearbook using this link or call 1-877-767-5217. Email Mrs. Bricker (tbricker@wcpss.net) with questions. Thank you!

Congratulations: Martin Band and Orchestra students took part in a Music Festival and Adjudication on Saturday. Not only did both groups earn a Superior Rating (the highest rating), but they also each earned the best score for all bands and orchestras performing in the festival! Congratulations to Mr. Harris, Mr. Giambusso and all the orchestra and band students!

Pets on Campus: We ask that families leave their four-legged friends at home during athletic events. We want to ensure a safe environment for our athletes and spectators. As always, service animals are welcome at all events.

From the PTA:

Board Leadership Needed: The Nominating Committee is actively looking for parents to fill major board positions including President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer for the 2024-25 school year. Without  these vital leadership roles, Martin cannot have a PTA nor distribute funding to all the programs that support our teachers and students. No experience is required and, rest assured, the current board members are here to help you learn the ropes!

Contact communications@martinpta.com and we will find a good fit for you!

Thank you, Mustang Families, and have a wonderful evening.
