November 20, 2022 Mustang News

Happy Sunday, Mustang Families. Thank you to all the families who participated in our virtual Family Academy hosted by the Counseling and Student Services department on Wednesday. We also were thrilled to see everyone at World Languages Night on Thursday night. It was a great celebration of all the cultures that make Martin an amazing community and we were excited to bring the tradition back!

This is a short week with only two days of instruction. Martin will be closed for the fall break from Wednesday through Friday. If you are traveling or staying close to home over the fall break, please stay safe. We will return on November 28th for a full week of learning and teaching.

All-County Band: Congratulations to Mr. Giambusso and the members of the Martin Band who participated in All-County Band Clinic and Concert on Friday. We are very proud of their hard work!

From Our Social Worker: As we move into December, we will collect holiday gift cards for families in need. If you can help, please take a moment to sign up to help a family in need during the holiday season. Please contact Teresa Barnes, tfbarnes@wcpss.net or 919.881.4970 ext. 27418, if you have any questions.

Winter Athletics: Girls’ basketball tryouts start Monday, November 21st, from 2:30-4. Please see the Martin Athletics Website for all details. As a reminder, students must already have a 100% complete Dragonfly account to try out. Please contact Mr. Basaldu with questions.

Martin Family Coffee: Our December Family Coffee will be December 2nd from 8-9am. This will be a virtual coffee. The meet code will be sent in our next Mustang News.

Missing Work Due: All missing work for the beginning of the 2nd quarter is due on December 7th. Students should work with teachers and review PowerSchool to identify assignments and assessments that need to be addressed prior to December 7th.

From the PTA:

Spiritwear for the Holidays: Martin spiritwear makes great holiday gifts. Orders placed by Friday, December 9th, will be available for pick-up before winter break. If you want to arrange for pick-up rather than the order going home with your student, please indicate “parent pick-up” in the homeroom field. To order: Spiritwear.

Thank you, Mustangs, and have a wonderful week.
