August 14, 2022 Mustang News
Good evening Mustang families. This is Marla Mondora, principal of Martin Gifted and Talented Magnet Middle School, with our family message, Mustang News. Messages will be sent weekly on Sunday evenings at 5pm. They are also housed on our school website, https://www.wcpss.net/martinms, under “Principal’s Message”.
We have a couple reminders and dates for your calendar as we move closer to the start of the school year.
Please mark your calendars for the 6th Grade Stampede Celebration on August 19th from 10-12. Students will receive copies of their schedules and meet their teachers and classmates. Families will learn about middle school and Martin as well as complete the “To Do List” of tasks. All 7th and 8th grade students will have the opportunity to walk their schedules on August 25th. The seventh grade walk through will be from 9-11 and the 8th grade walk through will be from 1-3.
The Martin Athletics Department will host an informational meeting for all students and their families interested in Martin Athletics on Wednesday, August 24th, at 6pm in the Auditorium. For questions, contact John Basaldu, our Athletics Director, at jbasaldu@wcpss.net.
Meet the Teacher is scheduled for Thursday, September 8th at 6pm. A PTA meeting will take place at 5:30 that evening. More information will be shared as we get closer to the event. Our first Family Coffee of the year will be on Friday, September 16th, in the Auditorium. Our 6th grade families will have a grade level specific Coffee on September 23rd in the Media Center.
For families interested in yellow school bus transportation, please be certain you register for transportation by visiting https://www.wcpss.net and navigating to parents - transportation - bus rider registration.
Families assigned “yellow Bus” transportation for this year did receive a message on Friday from WCPSS asking that if you are no longer interested in transportation for the year to let the Transportation Department know at www.wcpss.net/declinebus. This will help them with developing efficient transportation routes.
Thank you Mustangs, and have a wonderful week.
