Thank you to the PTA and all the students and staff who volunteered their time and talents to an AMAZING Mustang Madness! The week of drawings had the school buzzing with excitement and the culminating community event on Friday evening was absolutely wonderful! We just loved seeing the building filled with students, past, present and future, along with their families enjoying the annual event. This year’s “Madness” was bigger than ever!

 

Teacher Workday: Monday is a Teacher Workday and Martin will be closed to students. Families enrolled in Virtual Academy are invited to come by school to pick up materials for 4th quarter. We do ask that you return EL novels from previous quarters. When returning materials, please include your student’s name on a sticky note on the novel so we can update our records.

 

Report Cards: Third quarter report cards will be distributed on Friday. Families can also check final grades for the quarter in PowerSchool/Parent Portal beginning on Tuesday. Virtual Academy families who would like a hard copy report card snail mailed are asked to email Ms. Frechette, kfrechette@wcpss.net, with the request.

 

Fourth Quarter Schedules: Fourth quarter schedules are available to students through their PowerSchool accounts.

 

2022-23 Course Registration: Registration for the 2022-23 school year is almost complete. Counselors are working with individual students who have not completed the registration process. Please reach out to Ms. Leech, Ms. Rowell or Mr. Strader if you have any questions.

 

Family Coffee: We will host a Family Coffee on Friday, April 1st at 8am. This coffee will be virtual and you can join the meet using the linked code. The topic of the coffee will be special education and 504 services with Mr. Pillay as the presenter.

 

Shrek Jr.: The Drama Department is excited to present this year’s Spring Musical, Shrek Jr., The Musical. Mr. Velarde and the cast and crew have been hard at work for months to prepare for three shows this week. Thursday and Friday’s shows will start at 7pm and the Saturday matinee will begin at 2pm. All shows are in the Martin auditorium.

 

Athletics This Week: This week’s athletic events are:

  • Wednesday Softball vs Carnage (Note: This is a schedule change)
  • Wednesday Track vs East Garner & Ligon
  • Thursday Softball @ East Garner

Summer Camp Opportunity - Attention 6th and 7th Graders: Broughton Football is excited to present the fourth annual Fastbreak Football camp June 27th through July 1st, open to rising 4th through 8th grade boys and girls.

Fastbreak Football Camp focuses on character education, general athletic development, and weight room fundamentals in addition to football specific instruction. Coaches at Fastbreak Football Camp will teach young athletes the key character traits required of good teammates, football fundamentals and the athletic postures and movements necessary to excel in any sport. Instruction will be clear and concrete. Activities will be fun and fast-paced.

 

Register today by visiting www.fastbreakfootballcamp.com.  The cost for camp is $250, but financial aid is available.  No camper will be turned away for financial reasons.
