This event will enhance our collaborative efforts to achieve our literacy goals.Together we can make a profound difference in the lives of our students. As always we are looking forward to welcoming our Carver Cubs back to school tomorrow.

Please review the important school and county  updates below:

Talking Points is not working for some users (teachers and parents). The ability to send and receive messages may be impacted. Communications is working to resolve the issue.

This Thursday is Literacy Night! You and your student will have the opportunity to participate in workshops that will help you support your child’s literacy development at home. Our first workshop will begin at 5:30pm and will be provided in English and Spanish (in separate locations). Then from 6:00 - 6:25, you will have time to visit your student’s teacher to learn specific activities and strategies that can be implemented at home to promote the love of reading and develop grade level literacy skills. The same session will be repeated from 6:30 - 6:55, for those families who have students in more than one grade level at Carver. Lastly, we invite you and your family to enjoy a pizza dinner, sponsored by the PTA, after the workshops have concluded.

Last week was National School Lunch Week. We want to take this opportunity to recognize our wonderful cafeteria staff: Ms. Wise, Ms. Carpenter, Ms. Turner, and Ms. Finegan. Thank you for all you do to ensure our Carver Cubs have nutritional meals daily.

Welcome to our Staff: Ms. Rosa Fernandez. She will be joining our TEAM as an IA in our DD PreK classroom.

SEL At Carver: Second Step Unit 2 Lesson 7

Students will learn to recognize strong emotions, like anger or frustration, and practice strategies to calm down before reacting. They focus on identifying physical signs of these emotions and using calming techniques such as deep breathing, counting, or positive self-talk.

What can we do as parents?

Parents can support this at home by modeling these techniques during stressful moments and encouraging your child to practice them regularly. Reminding your children to pause and take a few deep breaths before responding can be a simple but effective way to reinforce this lesson.
