Hello Carver Families, 

I hope you are having a wonderful Track Out. We are excited to welcome our Carver Cubs back to school on Tuesday, October 15. 

 

Celebrations this Month:

We will celebrate Custodian Appreciation Day on Wednesday, October 16. We want to extend a special thank you to Ms. Bernice Alford, Head Custodian, Ms. Teresa Vasquez, Ms. Maria Fuentes, and Mr. Mark Gauthier. We appreciate your efforts to maintain a clean and safe school environment.

  • Week of October 14 is National School Lunch Week.

 

Happening This Week:

  • Monday 10/14 - Teacher Workday (no school for students)

  • Tuesday 10/15 - Students return to school and Quarter 2 begins

  • Tuesday 10/5 - Arbor Day Tree Planting, 5th Grade

  • Wed. 10/16 - Unity Day, WEAR ORANGE for kindness, acceptance and inclusion.

  • Wed. 10/16- 18 - Cogat testing, 3rd grade

  • Parent/Teacher Conferences will continue and should be completed by Friday, October 25. If you need assistance with scheduling a time to meet with your child's teacher, please call the school

SEL at Carver:  Second Step Family Link

Second Step Lesson Unit 2 Lesson 6:

Your child will learn how to recognize when someone feels happy by using body language and context clues. They'll practice observing facial expressions and body language, as well as considering what’s happening in the situation.

National Bullying Prevention Month

National Bullying Prevention Month, observed each October, aims to raise awareness and promote efforts to prevent bullying and create safe, inclusive school environments for all students.  Unity Day is on October 16, 2024. Students are encouraged to  WEAR  ORANGE for kindness, acceptance and inclusion.

 

Reminder

One School One Book: Mr. Popper's Penguins

  • Everyone can participate, even if you don’t have a book, by visiting https://bit.ly/MrPopper. Please click on the top right “Home” button to find links to chapters read aloud in English and Spanish, questions to engage with your child about what they read or heard, and an activity you can do together each week. Students will turn in the weekly activities to their teacher for a chance to win a monthly prize! Prizes will be awarded for completing activities associated with chapters 8-12 on Wed. October 30.
