Week of May 22, 2023
Hello Carver Families!
I hope you all enjoyed the weekend. We want to take a moment to shout out our appreciation for the support we have received from our families this year. As the school year comes to a close, we want to reflect on the successes and achievements of our Carver Cubs. We are looking forward to welcoming students back to school tomorrow and having the opportunity to spend another week celebrating with everyone! Have a fabulous summer! We can’t wait to see you all back in July! :)

This Week:

EOG Scores will be sent home with your child tomorrow, Monday May 22, 2023. Please check your child’s bookbag/folder and review these scores.

This week, students in 3-5 who were absent last week during EOG testing will complete makeup testing.

Grade level awards ceremonies and end of year celebrations are planned for this week. Details have been sent home by your student’s teacher.

Tuesday, May 23 - 3rd grade plant sale and Alex’s Lemonade Stand (all proceeds from lemonade sales will be donated to Alex’s Lemonade Stand, Foundation for Childhood Cancer) 10:00 - 11:15 (open to parents and the community). Both of these events will take place outside in the front of the school. Students will be able to buy lemonade during their recess time as well.

The last day of school for students is Thursday, May 25th. Report Cards will be sent home with students on the last day of school.

The 5th Grade Moving Up ceremony will take place on Thursday, May 25th, 9:45am in the gym.
EOG Retest Camp
If your child meets the criteria for our EOG Remediation and Readministration program, you will receive a permission slip in the envelope with your child’s scores. These permission slips must be returned by Wednesday May 24, 2023. The program dates for the end of the school year are: May 26, 2023 and May 31, 2023. Transportation will be provided, and breakfast and lunch will be available for students.

The Yearbooks are in! We handed out the yearbooks for the pre-orders on Friday, May 19 at the end of the day. We hope you have enjoyed looking through them.

If you have not pre-ordered one you will have your chance to buy a yearbook next week. The PTA will be selling yearbooks May 22 – 25 or until they sell out. You can purchase a yearbook in the mornings 8:45-9:15, during Awards Ceremonies, and after school in carpool. The cost for the yearbook is $15. The PTA accepts cash, credit cards, and checks made payable to Carver Elem. PTA. Your support is greatly appreciated.

Mark your calendars! We will welcome students back to school on July 24, 2023 for a new school year. Please keep an eye on our school website for information regarding Meet the Teacher. Supply lists for next year will be available on our website the first week of June.
Social Emotional Learning at Carver Daily/Second Step:
Second Step® Elementary is a research-based social-emotional learning program designed to improve children’s social-emotional skills. For the remainder of the school year, students will review the four Second Step topics presented throughout the school year.
