Week of May 15, 2023

Hello Carver Families!

I hope you all enjoyed your Mother’s Day weekend and that our Carver Cubs showed you just how much they love and care for you! We are just two weeks away from ending another fabulous school year! Attendance is crucial. Please make every effort to send your student to school each day. The curriculum is still being taught and assessments are being given to determine what our students have learned this year. This information is very helpful with planning for next school year and guides our school improvement efforts. We are looking forward to welcoming our Carver Cubs back to school tomorrow.

Reminder:

  • Recently, we have noticed an increase in students being checked out of school early. Students and teachers are continuing to work through the curriculum and are beginning to prepare for end of grade tests. At Carver, instruction does not stop until dismissal starts at 3:45pm. Although we understand that early check outs are unavoidable at times, please do your best to leave your child in school for the entirety of the instructional day when possible.

Social Emotional Learning at Carver Daily/Second Step:

Second Step® Elementary is a research-based social-emotional learning program designed to improve children’s social-emotional skills. For the remainder of the school year, students will review the four Second Step topics presented throughout the school year. During SEL time this week, students will review social emotional learning concepts through stories and activities.
