Hello Carver Families!

I hope you have had a wonderful weekend. Thank you to all who came out to support our 2nd and 3rd grade Carver Cubs during their musical performance Thursday evening. It was a full house! I know our Cubs appreciated seeing you there and celebrating their hard work. It was truly an amazing show! Shoutout to Ms. Boykin for her leadership and creativity. She is doing an awesome job of creating opportunities for our Carver Cubs to shine. We are excited and proud that they will be performing again this week as a part of The Stars In The East Show being held at East Wake HS on Thursday at 7pm.  Tickets are $10.00 and are being sold at East Wake HS on March 8th from 6pm - 9pm and the day of the show while tickets last. 

Something special is happening at Carver Elementary:

Our 5th grade students will be participating in a Special Olympics event with our ECSI, ECSII, ID Severe classes and some of our Pre-K students this Friday. Because of Ms. Scott, grade 5 teacher, Carver is a Special Olympics Unified Champions School. Ms. Scott is passionate about sports and how it can be used to support and promote inclusion. We are excited for our students to have this opportunity and look forward to this becoming a schoolwide event in the future.

• North Carolina's Severe Weather Awareness Week is March 6-10. A statewide tornado drill will be conducted at each school on March 8, 2023 as part of this awareness week.

• Friday 3/10 - 2nd grade field trip: NC Zoo

Social Emotional Learning at Carver Daily/Second Step:

Second Step® Elementary is a research-based social-emotional learning program designed to improve children’s social-emotional skills. Students are currently engaging in discussion and activities focused on problem-solving. Children learn how to identify and state a problem, recognize if a problem is an accident, and use the STEP problem-solving process:

E: Explore the outcomes 

P: Pick a solution
