Hello Carver Families!

 

I hope you have had a wonderful weekend. We are excited to have our Carver Cubs back tomorrow!

Congratulations to Carver Cub, Hanna Rievoles, 5th grade, who will be honored at the Gifts of Gold Art Award celebration this week for her outstanding artistic ability. We are so very proud of her! 

 

Please join us in welcoming our newest Carver Bears to the TEAM:

We are grateful to have Ms. Maria Fuentes join our fabulous custodial team and Ms. Christine Van Savage, who has joined our extraordinary Regional Programs team as an IA in our ID Severe classroom. 

 

This Week: 

  • Week of February 27 Spring Parent/Teacher conferences begin (2 weeks before track out and will continue 2 weeks after track out)

  • March is Women’s History Month - Carver Cubs will begin learning about extraordinary women who have had an impact on our community and the world. 

  • Wednesday, March 1 - Spring Picture Day

  • Thursday, March 2 - 2nd and 3rd grade Music Performance 6:00pm. We hope you will be there!

  • Friday, March 3 - PreK Family Partnership Day

 

 Upcoming:

  • Thursday, March 9th - 2nd and 3rd graders perform in The Stars In The East Show, East Wake HS 7pm. Tickets are $10.00 and are being sold at East Wake HS on March 8th and the day of the show while tickets last

  • Students Trackout (NO School)  March 13 - 24

  • Mark your calendars for our next Family Engagement Event, STEM Night, Thursday, March 30

 Reminders:

  • Yearbooks are still on sale! Yearbook cost is $15.00.  Payments methods: Check, Cash, or online ordering at www.strawbridge.com with code: YB26820. Deadline to order is April 1st, 2023. 

 

Social Emotional Learning at Carver Daily/Second Step:

Second Step® Elementary is a research-based social-emotional learning program designed to improve children’s social-emotional skills. Students are currently engaging in discussion and activities focused on problem-solving. Children learn how to identify and state a problem, recognize if a problem is an accident, and use the STEP problem-solving process: 

S: Say the problem 

T: Think of solutions 

E: Explore the outcomes 

P: Pick a solution 

  

From Carver PTA: 

  • Hey Carver Elementary School Parents/Guardians, our school wide fundraiser kicks off on 2/20/2023 and we would love for everyone to get involved.  Make sure to get registered online and send this out to family and friends.  You can Register with our school I.D. #22005 for online sales and also use the order form in the packet to sell in-person.  Student's Registration - School ID (candymaninc.org)
