Principal's Message - August 9, 2024

 

Hi Families,

 

Here’s an overview of school activities at Morrisville for August 12 - 16:

  • Track 1 & 2 Yearbook Pictures on Wednesday
  • Track 1 & 2 Parent Education Literacy Night on Thursday, 6 PM – 7:30 PM
  • Track 2 students track after dismissal on Friday

PARENT EDUCATION NIGHT

 

Track 1 & 2 teachers will host a Parent Education Night focused on literacy next Thursday, August 15, from 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM.  We will offer two sessions during the evening from 6:00 PM - 6:40 PM and 6:50 PM - 7:30 PM to accommodate families with multiple children.  This event will provide families with hands-on resources and strategies to support student learning.  RSVP with the link posted below to reserve your seat and access to these resources.

 

Parent Ed Night for Tracks 3 & 4 will be September 5, 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM.

POSTER CONTEST

 

Calling all students! Entries are now being accepted for the Town of Morrisville’s 19th Annual Student Art Poster Contest, sponsored by the Morrisville Environment & Stormwater Committee.  Posters are due by October 18th at Town Hall in Morrisville.

 

This year’s theme is ‘Water You Know About H2O?’ This contest is an effort to create awareness of the importance of water as a natural resource and how we all can contribute toward conservation and water quality. All students in grades K-5 are eligible to participate.

GO PLAY SAVE FUNDRAISER

 

The PTA Go Play Save fundraiser has ended.  Thank you to everyone who participated in this event!  If you are not purchasing a coupon book, please send your book and envelope back to your child’s homeroom teacher as we will need to inventory all unsold coupon books.   Thank you for helping support MES!

Curriculum Overviews:  Each grade has created a video overview of the topics and skills students will learn during Quarter 1.  Families can find these resources in the Curriculum Overview section of the school website at www.wcpss.net/morrisvillees

 

Volunteer Registration: Visit Volunteering in WCPSS to learn more about volunteer renewal or apply to be a first-time volunteer.  Families who were approved to volunteer during the 2023-24 school year will receive an email from WCPSS on July 1 outlining the volunteer renewal process for the 2024-25 school year. The renewal window will be July 1-Oct. 1.
