Mustang News for November 22, 2020
We enjoyed having our Cohort A students back on The Ranch last week! As a reminder, Monday and Tuesday are Remote Learning Days for all Martin Mustangs. Students are required to login to each of their teacher’s classrooms to see the assigned learning activity for the day. There will be no required whole class Google Meet on Monday or Tuesday. Attendance will be taken in each class and students will be marked present through completed and submitted assignments.
Schools will be closed Wednesday through Friday this week for Thanksgiving. Cohort B students will return to in-person learning on November 30th.
Student Led Coffee Chats: The Student Council is organizing "coffee chats" on asynchronous days. These chats will be facilitated conversations about a specific topic each time and then a space for socialization. The first chat is Monday, November 23rd from 11:30-12:10 and the topic is stress management Pre-Registration is required. Click here for Student Coffee Chats.
Are you interested in becoming a peer tutor? Do you need some additional support from a peer tutor? The student council is organizing a Peer Tutor program and the deadline to register is quickly approaching. Please visit the Student Council - Peer Tutoring website for more information.
The Multicultural Club is now going to be meeting after school on Thursdays from 2:30-3:00. The meet code is: MartinCulture
School Pictures: We have additional opportunities for students to have their pictures taken for the yearbook. All students in Plan A/B/C will have their pictures taken while in school. All students in Virtual Academy will have their pictures taken on a Remote Learning Day. The schedule is as follows:

From WCPSS: Effective immediately, if a WCPSS student or employee does not pass the health screening or if they stay home or are sent home because they are experiencing a symptom of illness, their household members must also stay home. This means that any WCPSS student or employee living in the same house must quarantine for 14 days. The household members may return sooner than 14 days if the person experiencing a symptom of illness receives confirmation of an alternate diagnosis or a negative PCR/Molecular test.
Winter Break Student Meals Information: Child Nutrition Services will be offering FREE meal bundles that will be distributed Monday, December 21st from 10:45 - 12:45 at select distribution sites. The Winter Break Meal Bundle will include 8 Breakfasts and 8 Lunches. 1 Meal bundle per child. You do not have to be a WCPSS student to receive meals, only 18 years of age or younger to qualify. Big Bus Food Truck sites are closed Monday. On Tuesday, Nov. 24, our CNS team will distribute a four-day holiday pack at our curbside pick-up locations and Big Bus Food Truck sites as long as supplies last. Food distribution services will not be occurring Nov. 25-27.
