Mustang News for September 13, 2020
Good Afternoon Mustang Families,
Virtual Meet the Teacher begins tomorrow. We are excited for our families to meet our teachers throughout the week. Teaches have presentations planned and we hope this format will provide the needed flexibility for all to participate. The Meet the Teacher Schedule for the week can be found here.
The Martin Middle School Student Council will hold an informational meeting on Wednesday, September 23rd regarding the upcoming student body elections.
Do you want to become a student leader? Are you goal focused and determined to improve your leadership skills? Do you want to help improve your school community? Then student Council is what you are looking for… Here we care about our fellow students, and we want to help our community grow. Plus, you can make new friends, have fun experiences, and learn new leadership skills.
Students from all grade levels can run for office in this election, please see the interest form for more information about what office you may be eligible for.
If you are interested in running fill out the Candidate Interest Form, linked in the bottom of this message. The Candidate Interest Form is due September 22nd, after which eligible candidates will receive a Google Meet Code for the informational meeting.
The Google Meet Link will be sent to the school email address you provide in the Candidate Information Form.
All WCPSS students can receive breakfast and lunch at no cost through December 31 and one of the many locations across the county. A complete list of locations and times can be found here.
By now, we hope that you are settling in to the year and the schedule. It is important for students to find time to step away from their screens. We will talk through some of these strategies next week. Mark your calendars for Tuesday, September 29, 2020. We will host a school wide Parent Coffee at 8am and 4pm. The topic will be balancing screen time. The meeting links are:

The 30 day grace period for the required immunizations has been extended by Governor Cooper due to COVID-19 and begins on October 1. Please send a copy of the proof of vaccine to Ms. Sepulveda at esepulveda@wcpss.net.
