Hello! My name is Mrs. Yanez, and I’m thrilled to be joining Bowling Road, as part of the 4th grade team. I’ve been an elementary school teacher for over 20 years, and every year brings something new and rewarding. I’ve taught a variety of grade levels, but 4th grade has always been one of my favorites. I grew up in NC and have lived here most of my life. Outside of school, I enjoy reading and spending time with my family. I’m looking forward to a fantastic school year.

Hi! I’m Jessie Hollinger, and I’m so excited to be teaching 4th grade this year!
I’ve been a teacher for 13 years and truly believe it’s the best job in the world. I’ve taught 2nd, 4th, and 5th grades, and also worked as a gifted resource teacher. I graduated from Appalachian State and am currently earning my master’s in gifted education at Western Carolina.
I believe every student brings something special to our classroom. As educator Howard Gardner once said, “It’s not how smart you are, it’s how you are smart.” I can’t wait to discover the unique gifts and talents each student brings to our learning community!

I am an experienced elementary teacher with many years dedicated to nurturing young learners. I hold a Bachelor of Education and a Master’s degree, which have strengthened my practice in teaching. I have a passion for Math and Science. During my teaching, I have authored several science books designed to support effective curriculum implementation in schools. Most recently, I taught as an expatriate teacher at Cambridge Academy Ethiopia, where I enjoyed fostering a love of learning in a diverse classroom. I believe in creating engaging, hands-on lessons that inspire curiosity and build strong foundational skills. Teaching is not just a profession for me—it’s a passion that allows me to empower students to reach their full potential and develop a lifelong love of learning.
