Mrs. Demetrice Green
I am incredibly grateful to continue my journey at Beaverdam Elementary School as Assistant Principal for the 2024-2025 school year. My desire is to continue advocating for all students and families with an educational experience where values and diversity are celebrated while having a genuine passion for building relationships and creating a safe learning environment.
I am originally from Laurinburg, NC, where I graduated from Scotland High School. I attended Dudley’s Cosmetology University and became a salon owner/cosmetologist for 15 years. The love that I have for the educational profession prompted me to return to college where I earned my Bachelor of Science degree from UNC Pembroke. After graduation, I worked as a Qualified Professional Substance Abuse Counselor at Southeastern Regional Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities and Substance Abuse Services. I hold three master’s degrees; Masters in Counseling, Masters in Human Resources from Webster University, and a Master's in School Administration from UNC-Pembroke.
I have served 25 years with the state of NC as a mental health and substance abuse counselor, long term substitute teacher, high school counselor, testing coordinator, and assistant principal in the Elementary, Middle, and High School sectors. I was previously employed with The Public Schools of Robeson County and Scotland County Schools prior to my employment with Wake County Public Schools. I will continue to bring to this role a wealth of administration experience to Beaverdam Elementary by immersing myself deeper into the vision of our school by interacting with students and staff. I have a passion for being visible upon students' arrival, dismissal, in the hallways, classrooms, and throughout the building. Recognizing student achievements and communicating with parents is important to me in order to provide leadership, all while building a structure of collaborative relationships in the school and community.
I am happily married to my husband, Anthony. I have two children, Timon, a recent MBA graduate and scholar athelete from UNC-Pembroke and a daughter, Tyler who attends UNC-Chapel Hill where she is an active “Marching Tar Heel."
I look forward to having an amazing school year.
