Degrees and Certifications:
My name is Carol Abrams and I have been teaching for 29 years. I graduated from Bob Jones University in Greenville, SC with a degree in Elementary Education. I’m thankful to be called to a profession in which I get to work with children and encourage them to be all that they can be. I have had unique opportunities to teach children at every grade level from kindergarten to twelfth grade. The majority of my career has been in the intermediate grades, and I am excited to be here at Wendell Creative Arts and Science Magnet School teaching fourth grade. I can’t remember a time that I did not want to be in the field of education and love spending time researching new ways to teach concepts incorporating the arts and stem activities!
My husband Stan and I have been married for 28 years and live up the road in Wilson, NC. We love spending time with our three children and two dogs. (And now we have a cat!) We travel frequently to watch our children play sports or to see our beloved UNC Tarheels play football, basketball, baseball, or any other sport! We are very involved in our church and enjoy gatherings with our church family. My absolute favorite hobby is reading historical fiction. A dear colleague who has long since retired told our students daily to “Take some time and read a good book!” I try to follow his advice every day! My goal is to inspire my students to do the same!
