Degrees and Certifications:
I was born and raised in the northern part of New York. My home town is situated on the St. Lawrence river in an area referred to as the 1000 islands. It is also at the base of the Adirondack Mountains. In my opinion it is one of the most beautiful places in the country in the summer months. Unfortunately, the summer months are short and the winter months are long. It is still somewhere that holds a special place in my heart, but the climate was just a little too much for me to handle. That lead me to start exploring new areas with milder weather.
I received my Bachelors of Science and Education in Health/Physical Education at SUNY Cortland in central New York. My certification allows me to teach K-12, but my passion is for elementary education. After my college career I tried to be an assistant men's basketball coach at SUNY Canton for a couple years, but I knew that I wanted to be a physical educator. In 2005 I came to visit college friends that lived here in Raleigh and fell in love with the city. I promptly moved here and took a job at here at Lynn Road.
I have been here at Lynn Road Elementary for more then a decade. The time I have spent here teaching students and working with colleagues have been some of the most rewarding experiences of my life. I hope to continue helping students become life long movers and athletes for years to come.
I married my beautiful wife in 2015. Together we have a son that was born in January of 2017. We also have a crazy, but very loving chocolate lab named Charley.
