  • Hello, all future Tigers.  My name is Amber Schroeder, and I am looking forward to working with you all.  This will be my sixth year teaching, but it will be my first year with 8th graders. I am excited about this new opportunity in a brand new school!  Yay, new stuff!  I am a graduate of NCSU, but I don't let collegiate sports loyalty get in my way; I'll save that for the NFL.  I hope to go back to NCSU one day (sooner than later) to pursue an MA in film and literature.  My husband and I have two children: my son is a rising sophomore and my daughter is a rising 6th grader.  Family time includes reading, hiking, swimming, watching movies, and playing games (board and electronic sources).
As a literature teacher, I would be remiss to not mention some of my favorite books/authors: Tony DiTerlizzi (Search for WondLa), Neil Gaiman (all the books), James M. Barrie (Peter Pan, the novel), J.R.R. Tolkien (The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings), and Ransom Riggs (Miss Peregrin's Home for Peculiar Children). I simply cannot wait to share my love of literature with the Tigers of River Bend Middle.  (Does anyone else start singing the song from Disney's Pocahontas?

  • Greetings Tigers, and welcome to River Bend Middle School!
My name is Carla Kenney and I am very proud to, again, be working with Mrs. Weddle and to be part of the Administrative Team at our school.  Performing the duties of the Bookkeeper takes me on a new journey within Wake County Public Schools.
This school year will begin my 15th year of working with the staff and students in this area of NC.  I have worked both in the classroom and at Central Office, in Cary.  It is truly a privilege to have the understanding of both aspects of WCPSS.  As a result of my experiences, I have a great respect for our school system and the incredible staff that work tireless hours to strive to meet the goals and needs of our students collectively, and those with special needs/concerns.
When I am not at school, I enjoy the beach, cycling, shopping and supporting my Tarheels!
I have the most wonderful husband of almost 33 years and together we have four amazing children.  Yes, my heart is always on overflow when I mention them!  I give all my thanks and praise to GOD for blessing me with this treasured life that I share with them.
I look forward to seeing you in the hallways of our beautiful new school.  I know it's going to be a great year!
    Go Tigers!

  • Greetings Future Tigers and Families!

My name is Kristin DiSanto and I will be serving as the speech-pathologist at River Bend Middle School.  This will be my third year working in Wake County Public Schools as I have worked at Durant Road Middle School and Durant Road Elementary School.  Before moving down to North Carolina in 2015, I worked at an elementary school in upstate New York where I was born and raised.  I received my Master’s degree in Speech Pathology from Nazareth College in 2012.  I love to challenge my students to reach their potential and see the success and progress that they make along the way.  In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, playing in a sports league or getting outside to enjoy the beautiful weather that North Carolina has to offer!

Looking forward to a great school year at RBMS!

  • Greetings and Blessings to Everyone,

It is with great pleasure and delight that I introduce myself to you.  I am Mable D. Jefferys and I will be a future Tiger at River Bend Middle School, where I will serve in the capacity of Special Education ICR-Teacher. A brief synopsis of who I am and my educational background;  I currently hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology/Social Work from Shaw University and a Master’s Degree in Educational Technology from Strayer University.  I was born, raised and still now reside in Wake Forest NC, where I have a wonderful, outstanding family.  My family consist of 3 gifted and glorious children (1 son, 2 daughters), a daughter-in-law and an amazing granddaughter whom is the apple of my eye.

After leaving the Mental Health sector, where I served for 10 years as a Case Manager, I decided to follow my heart and passion to work with young people to be a part of their growth, development and success within the public school system.  My personal goal as an educator is to challenge students and watch them grow to their full potential. I want to take students at different levels and see them develop together for the betterment of each individual.  Being that I have been privileged to work with a group of individuals that are part of a Special Needs (IDMOD, AU) population, I want students to have freedom that allows for expression and creativity.  As an educator, it is important not only to help the students that you are teaching, but also give them direction to help others.

I believe that each student is an unique individual who needs a secure, caring and stimulating atmosphere in which to grow and mature emotionally, intellectually, physically and socially.  It is my desire as an educator to help students reach these mentioned areas by providing an environment that is safe, supports risk-taking, and invites new and innovative ideas.  Furthermore, it is also a must to bring students and staff to their full capacity of learning by allowing them the opportunity to be self-reliant through motivational techniques and a self-willingness to learn and grow within one’s own being.  As an educator, it is not only vital and important to be able to teach or be a leader; it is also having the ability to be a team-player and to SERVE.

In setting fair and consistent rules initially and stating the importance of every activity, students are shown respect for their presence and time. In turn, they learn to respect themselves, others, and their surroundings.  In my eyes, as an educator, ALL children are blessings and deserve the occasion to DREAM, GROW, and SUCCEED!!

  • Hello Future Tigers and Tiger Families!

I can not wait to meet you!

I am Mrs. Jen Finch and I am so excited to become a part of this awesome middle school! I am thrilled to begin the 2017-2018 school year as an ELA teacher at River Bend Middle!

My career as a teacher began in NH back in 1997! I have resided in NC for the last 18 years so I consider myself a North Carolinian. • Hey There Tigerrrrrrrrs, my name is Rob Clark and I will serve as the 8th grade school counselor at River Bend Middle School.  I come to RBMS from Wakefield High School where I’ve been one of the school counselors for the past 10 years.  I’m passionate about helping students reach their fullest potential personally, socially and academically.  Having had many years of working with students on the college process, I hope to help instill the importance of education and help students recognize that the efforts they put forth every single day ultimately determine their future opportunities.

I’ve been a football coach for 15 years at both the middle and high school levels, but just this past year stepped away from the sideline to become a full-time soccer dad for our 10 and 9 year old daughters that play at high levels within the CASL (NCFCY) system. We are very proud Soccer Parents and loving #ThisFutbolLife.

I’m so incredibly blessed to say that I will be joining the River Bend staff with my gorgeous best friend and wife Melissa.

Hola and Bonjour Tigers, my name is Melissa Clark and I will be the new ESL teacher at RBMS.  I come to River Bend Middle School from Wakefield High School where I served as a Spanish teacher for the past 10 years.  I am Spanish in heritage, but Canadian by birth.  I am fluent in Spanish, French, and English and can communicate with Portuguese, Italians, and many countries whose root language is similar to any of those.  I am extremely excited to embark on this new adventure at RBMS and build lasting relationships with all of our students, but especially those that I will have the privilege of teaching the English language and culture.

We’ve both worked together for the past 10 years at Wakefield HS and contrary to how others might feel we actually REALLY enjoy working together and seeing each other every day!!!

Now we have to be honest with everyone…we ARE HUGE Disney Fanatics.  Our family loves ALL things Disney.  As new Disney Vacation Club owners we get to enjoy our Disney vacations for the next 49 years … which by the way our 9 year old said “Daddy you will be 91 years old when our DVC ends” which we replied “Yes sweetheart…great job with your math”   #WeAreDisney

We are also health nuts.  We love fitness and nutrition and have truly made this a lifestyle for our family by setting a positive example for our daughters.

We are also animal lovers with two dogs (Tango and Lucky), two bunnies (Thumper and Maxx), and two birds (Azul and Rio)…we are in the process of building the arc (hahaha)

We are so excited to help make River Bend Middle School a phenomenal place for our students to continue their growth into amazing young people.  We will proudly wear the Purple and Gold!!!

    Geaux Tigers!!!

  • Hi RBMS Family! My name is Justin Smith. I'm very excited to introduce myself to you.
I've been a teacher for 20 years, and absolutely love it. I've been teaching in Wake County Schools for 15 of those, and
during that time I've been a 6th grade Science teacher, football coach, mentor, team leader, first responder, chemical hygiene officer, and club leader.
When I'm not busy helping you become a better student, and citizen, I'm at home with my wife, and 2 great kids (a dog and hamster too).
We like to camp, play sports, bike, hike, and participate in scouting events. Sometimes we even stay home and relax for a minute or two.
Welcome to River Bend, welcome to 6th grade Science, and welcome to the family!
