In her classroom, she loves structure but also loves sharing her passion for creativity and her hard-working nature with her students in all of the activities and lessons.
Outside of school, Ms. Fink really enjoys running 5k races and half marathons (She has run more than 50 races since November 2012...her most proudest was her one and only marathon in January 2016!), playing adult soccer, coaching at North Raleigh Gymnastics, tending to her 1000 gallon Koi pond, sewing anything purple, baking anything with chocolate, playing with her pups named Cuervo and Jager, travelling (and scuba-diving) with her boyfriend Curtis and his kids, going home to Wisconsin to hang out with her Mom, brother and his four boys, her sister and her four girls and continuing to cross things off on her never-ending bucket list! Hello! My name is Ryne Teem and I’m excited to be joining the River Bend staff! I graduated from East Carolina University in 2014 with a degree in Special Education. I have been teaching in WCPSS for three years at the middle school level. I have helped coach football for the past three seasons and have enjoyed getting to know students outside of the classroom. My teaching experience so far has taught me that each and every student is capable of great things with hard work and dedication. I am ready to see all of the future Tigers grow both as individuals and as students come August.
Outside of school, I enjoy sports, movies, and spending time with my wife and our dog.
I can’t wait to see you all in August! Go Tigers!
Meert Yolanda Stewart, our Head Custodian:
Prior to becoming a RBM Tiger, I was a Ram at Rolesville Middle School. I have had the pleasure of working within Wake County Public Schools for over ten years in both the Custodial Services as well as Transportation departments. Prior to joining Wake, I attended went to Wake Technical Community College for my CNA 1 and CNA 2 Nursing Assistant certification. When not at school, I enjoy spending time with my family (children, husband and granddaughter) going to church and visiting the beach.
My name is Carlos Pineda and I am one of the 6th grade Social Studies teachers at River Bend Middle School. I am originally from San Antonio, Texas but traveled extensively during my childhood. I come from a military family background and also served in the military after high school. I lived in Atlanta, Georgia for 17 years before moving to NC in the summer of 2013. I am married and have 3 daughters plus I am a grandfather to 9 grandchildren. I received my BS in education from Shorter University in Rome, Georgia. Besides my passion for teaching, writing is a favorite past-time. I have self-published a book titled, "honor Thy Daughters, A Fathers story of a China Adoption" in 2008 about our adventures in China. I was also honored to be the illustrator of a Children's book titled, "The Birthday Fairy." I look forward to meeting all the students and parents this coming school year.
Greetings Future Tigers! My name is Brenda Lovely and I am extremely excited and looking forward to teaching 8th grade science at River Bend Middle School. The 2017-2018 school year will start my 18th year of teaching. I am very passionate about teaching science and looking forward to meeting each of you!
I was born and raised in Durham, North Carolina which is where I have done the majority of my teaching. I completed my undergraduate studies at Winston-Salem State University where I obtained a bachelor's degree in science. I also have a master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction with a concentration in Middle Grades Science from North Carolina Central University. In addition, I am AIG certified.
My philosophy is that all students are capable of learning and achieving when given the right tools and motivation. I believe it is important to find new ways to challenge the minds of my students and give them the awareness of the wonderful world of science! Teaching Science gives me the opportunity to be a positive influence in the lives of each of my students.
Outside of the classroom, I love to sing, write poetry, and I am very active in my church. I also love going to the movies, traveling, trying new foods and adventures.
Hello. My name is Crissy Bradford. I am excited to be one of the sixth grade math teachers at River Bend Middle School in 2017-2018. I am in my twelfth year of teaching and have been at various middle schools across the state of North Carolina as a regular education math teacher and as a special education teacher. Each school has brought great opportunities and challenges which have helped me grow professionally. My experience has helped me maintain a positive outlook for student success. I am excited about teaching on a daily basis.
Both my parents were teachers for thirty years in North Carolina, so I guess you can say that teaching runs in the family.
I am married to Dr. Christopher Bradford who is the principal at Wake Forest Middle School. We recently relocated to North Raleigh and bought our first home together. We will be celebrating our two year anniversary in June. We have two sweet dachshunds (our fur babies) named Baxter who is ten years old and Buttons who is eight years old.
When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, working out, and cheering on Appalachian State and UNC.
Welcome future Tigers! My name is Derek Kuch and I am proud to say that I will be continuing my sixth year as both an English Language Arts educator and as a member of the Tiger family. I am originally from Buffalo New York where I also achieved my bachelor's degree in English and my master's degree in Adolescence English Education. Upon receiving my degree, I took a teaching job out in Arizona where I taught 7th and 8th grade English and Yearbook/Journalism. I was then fortunate enough to be able to move to Raleigh, North Carolina with my fiance whom I married this past March.
I entered in the teaching profession with one main focus in mind - to be able to empower children by allowing then a safe place to voice their opinions and thoughts on the world around them and to be able to consider other people's beliefs and ideas through various texts, videos, and any other means of communication that are valid in the ever changing world of students. I am so excited to not only get an opportunity to know your students both as an individual and a student but to also allow them an opportunity to grown themselves.
When I am not teaching I enjoy many different activities such as coaching middle school soccer, creating videos on I movie, and playing the guitar. Most of all, I enjoy spending time with my wife and our two rescue dogs - Gatsby and Daisy.

Welcome to our newest Bengal Tiger, Stefon Lowman. Here's Mr. Lowman's bio:
I am a husband and father of two daughters. I can truly say that all of my life experiences have fueled and continues to ignite my passion for school counseling and helping students succeed. I am originally from New York City: born in Brooklyn and raised in Jamaica Queens. I attended Florida A & M University (FAMU) where I obtained a bachelor's degree in Journalism/Public Relations with a minor in Psychology. After graduating, I returned to New York City where I worked for HBO in Affiliate Marketing. After leaving HBO, I worked for Cablevision/WEtv where I worked in Ad Sales Marketing. Working in the world of entertainment marketing and advertising was a great experience and very exciting at times, but I was more interested and passionate about helping others, especially adolescents, to be healthy successful individuals.
After getting married, I left New York City for Raleigh, NC where I made a career change and found my passion in Counseling. While in graduate school I started my career in education as a teacher's assistant at Apex Middle School in the Special Education Department. Following my time at Apex, I worked at Millbrook High School as a school counselor intern. I received my masters in School Counseling and a second masters in Mental Health Counseling from North Carolina Central University (NCCU). After working in the world of Mental Health and Substance abuse counseling, I began my school counseling career at Enloe High School. After leaving Enloe, I returned to middle school as a counselor at Wake Forest Middle School.
My goal is to help students be successful academically, personally, and socially. It is my pleasure to serve the students of River Bend Middle School as a School Counselor.

Remember, you don't have to be the best as long as you can say you gave your best!" We welcome Mr. Caprio to the River Bend family.
Mrs. Katie Brandenburg can easily be described in three words: wife, runner, and teacher.
