Carnage Cares Club
Our Background and Mission
Carnage Cares was founded in 2022 by our president, Rithika Kapu. She started this club at Carnage Magnet Middle School in Raleigh, NC. She got this idea to give back to the community and has made it her goal to achieve this. She helps take this club through many different pathways of giving back including volunteering at Inter-Faith Food Shuttle and fundraising for the Ukrainian War. This club helps engage middle schoolers of all ages to give back to their community and feel like they are able to make a difference. Debate / Speech Club
Carnage Middle School recently added a Speech and Debate Club to our repertoire of programs offered to our students after the school day has ended. This club is a partnership between Enloe High School and our school. Student members of Enloe's Debate Team tutor our students in the finer points of public speaking and debate twice a week.Advisor; Neeta Ohia- nohia@wcpss.net -
Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA)
Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) is the oldest and largest national organization for students preparing for careers in business. FBLA prepares students for “real world” professional experiences. Members gain the competitive edge for college and career success. More than a quarter of a million students participate in this dynamic leadership organization.
Trojan Chapter Membership
- Open to 6-8 graders who have completed or are in enrolled in one CTE Business or Computer elective.
- Dues are only $10 for the school year.
- See a CTE Teacher to join. Join by September to participate in Regionals. Join by December to compete in State Conference.
- Meet twice a month (Mondays) to collaborate, participate in chapter business activities, and prepare for competitions.
- Travel to local, state and national competitions and conferences to compete honorably, network with other chapters, and attend skill building workshops.
- WIN medals, trophies, and certificates to build students’ individual and our chapter’s resume of excellence.
- Have a blast meeting new people and developing leadership and business skills together with the guidance of CTE teachers and professional business mentors!
FBLA Middle Level Goals:
- Strengthen the confidence of students in themselves and their work
- Create more interest in and understanding of entrepreneurial careers and American business enterprise Encourage members in the development of individual projects, which contribute to the improvement of home, business, and community
- Develop character, prepare for useful citizenship, and foster patriotism
- Encourage and practice efficient money management
- Encourage students in the awareness of occupational goals
- Facilitate the transition from school to work

Battle of the Books
Battle of the Books is sponsored by the North Carolina School Library Media Association for students in grades 6, 7, and 8 from eligible public, private and charter schools across the state. Battle of the Books provide a fun, challenging way to motivate middle school students to read books from a wide range of genres. Schools participate in a "quiz bowl" style tournament that test their knowledge of a list of books selected by the NCSLMA Battle of the Books Committee. Spanish Club
After school language clubs provide enrichment in both language and culture. Special activities of the Spanish Club include cooking Spanish food for the winter fiesta and buying books printed in Spanish for children. Science Olympiad
Students use creative scientific techniques to solve problems individually and in teams. Students are recommended by their science teacher for placement on the team and participation is by invitation only. Seventh graders comprise of the Junior Varsity team and eighth graders make up the varsity team. Only the Varsity team may participate in the state competition. Science Olympiad is offered as an elective and may participate in the regional, state, and national tournaments. The Carnage team is consistently in the top three teams in our region and competes in the start Science Olympiad held at NCSU. Yearbook Committee
The yearbook committee is responsible for putting together the yearbook for the school year. It is imperative to have a strong group working together and delegating tasks to each person’s particular strengths. The class photography is split up between the committee members. The pages are organized and delegated at the first or second meeting, The committee is responsible for taking all the candid photos and covering events through out the year. The committee also works directly with the yearbook advisor to get all the group photos taken and all the individual portraits merged onto the class pages.Advisor: Pamela Johnson - ppjohnson@wcpss.net -
Student Council
The Carnage Middle School Student Council is a member of the NC Association of Student Councils and provides a leadership intensive program for all its members. Students have the opportunity to attend state, district, and school leadership workshops to learn valuable life skills, such as goal setting, communication, organization, and decision making. The goal of the Carnage Middle School student council is to promote school spirit and service to the community.The offices of president, vice-president, secretary, and treasurer are elected each spring by a ballot while the faculty advisor appoints the offices of sergeant-of-arms and historian.Advisor: -
Math Counts
MATHCOUNTS Club at Carnage Middle School is a competitive program that promotes math achievement through solving fun & engaging problems. Our club meets after school once a week. in the spring the top ten performing students compete with other schools. Of those ten students, the top four performing students are chosen to represent Carnage Middle School as the school's MATHCOUNTS Team.Carnage Middle School's MATHCOUNTS students have done well at local, state, and national meets.Advisor: Ann Chapoton-Genna - achapoton-genna@wcpss.net -
