School Improvement Plan

  • Powell’s school improvement plan is our game plan. The members of our school team, our teachers and staff, apply the plan which focuses on specific goals and strategies to improve student success.

To develop a school improvement plan, teachers, school administration, parents, and support staff work together to gather and analyze information about our school and students. This data is used to determine what needs to be restructured at Powell to enhance student achievement. Developing a game plan is an ongoing process as we use up-to-date and reliable information about how well our students are performing. The Powell school team sets goals for improvement, and makes decisions about how and when these goals will be achieved. In this way, Powell is better able to respond to the needs of students, teachers, and parents.

Student success is represented through student achievement scores.  Student achievement increases by enhancing the way curriculum is delivered, by creating a positive environment for learning, and by increasing the degree to which parents are involved in their children’s learning at school and in the home.
