HES Teacher of the Year

Congratulations to our Teacher of the Year - Meredith Zimmerman! Mrs. Zimmerman shows unwavering support for all students. She works tirelessly to ensure that all students feel seen and receive the help that they need to succeed. We are excited to celebrate her and have her represent HES as our Teacher of the Year!

HES Instructional Assistant of the Year

Congratulations to our Instructional Assistants of the Year - Susan Aldridge and Marylou Pennica! Both Ms. Aldridge and Mrs. Pennica have gone above and beyond and taken on the role of teaching in the 1st grade and PreK classrooms this year in the absence of the teachers. They are both doing an amazing job ensuring that students are learning in a caring and positive environment! We are lucky to have them both represent HES as our Instructional Assistants of the Year!

Y-Learning

There will be NO Y-Learning on Monday and Tuesday, November 25th & 26th!

Carpool

Please continue to try and carpool together in the mornings to help keep traffic down. Additionally - please do not skip the line to drop off up front. Once the gate is closed, we will divert traffic to the front of the building.

Wake Forest MLK Contest

The Wake Forest MLK Committee is hosting their annual MLK Contest. This year marks the 29th anniversary of the WF MLK Celebration program to commemorate the life and legacy program of Dr. King.

Each year the MLK Committee offers contests for creative writing, creative performance and art for the students in the Wake Forest and Rolesville schools with a different theme each year based on one of Dr. King’s quotes.

The theme for 2025 is:  “Forgiveness is not an occasional act; it is a constant attitude.”

The contest details and other information are on the committee’s website.  The deadline for the student contest submission is Friday, January 10, 2025 and can be uploaded on the website.
